Below Way Point 44

Friday, 15-Feb 2013 @ 8:22pm

This Afternoon Peter Hallinan and I went up to repair some erosion up on Petes Trail.

This was one erosion point that was identified in our last trail inspection with QPWS Rangers.

Before I get into the before and after stuff, I would like to say thank you to Peter Hallinan for attending our trail care sessions each and every Friday, as well as regularly attending weekend trail care days.

This is a huge effort put in by a very committed 75 year old, as well as the countless hours that Peter invests into interacting with QPWS, Local Council, State Government and many others.

This is all done for the growth and development of our sport, greater trail access and riding facilities.

If you ride on the gold coast then you owe him far more than you will ever know.

So Thank you Peter for dedicating yourself so strongly to our sport.

Onto the work done today.

Before pics from above and below of the erosion point identified in our last trail inspection.

A low point before the erosion point, and an out-sloped high point acting as a gentle berm with grass on top that was saved and re-used from our darinage points.

Below the Roller/Berm we added a second low point and small roller before the trail steepens.

And then finally we slightly adjusted the riding surface below to string the whole section together as well as repair some minor wheel erosion.

Ash.
