Three Hills Singletrack Hill Two

Sunday, 01-Sep 2013 @ 3:25pm

It was back to an old friend today.  Doug, Ash and I started work on Three Hills again, to see what it was like before posting trailcare days.  It's dry and dusty, but such a pretty part of the forest.  It was good to be back.

The task today was to remove another fallen tree from over the trail

and to start building up the valley again.  Here's what was left way back in 2012, when we last dug here

The trail is being ridden and a walking line has developed from here up to the beehive area.  We closed that walk line with debris today.

Please respect unfinished trail and the bush.  It won't be too long until the trail is open.  Hey - you could even try helping build it!

We added some fill and a new corral, or sightline feature downtrail a bit.  Until there is some rain there's no point overdoing it

We left loose soil on the trail hoping some rain may fall on it.  It does make the grade reversals harder to see.  Most of what we dug will be full bench, but we did use a lot of heavy rock on a high point

It was good to get back into making visible progress.  Watching trail grow is exciting.  We will be posting trailcare days from next weekend.  If you want to help and learn, please be in touch via the contact page.

Cheers  Louis
