More from Three Hills Singletrack Hill Two

Wednesday, 02-Oct 2013 @ 9:58pm

Since last post, Ash, my son Jack, his mate Tom and I took a country road trip to Old Hidden Vale at Grandchester.  There's really good riding (some interesting dirt) and all the staff at Spicers resort made us feel welcome, provided good maps and even made a call when we were late returning in the afternoon.  It's not free, but highly recommended.

Ash and I have also been out digging in the late afternoons.  For me this ended today; returning to work (the other kind) will not allow any daylight for after-work digology.  We have done a bit more and should show you.  Some pics are pretty ordinary being taken in dim light.

We had reached the corral stones resting against the tree (on the downslope) last trail news

Since then we added more trail with full benching and attention to drainage

This evening we made it a little farther uphill.  It's a beautiful part of the hill with great views of the valley and we finalised the planned line into the next creek line.  Looking down trail, the stones against the tree are above the bike's handlebars in this pic

Notice the DANGER tape.  There is a reason for it.  Chance is not in your favour if twenty tonnes of this falls on you

We will be back here Saturday afternoon if you would like to help
